Pip pip cherrio! Yes, I admit, happening upon a British tele-booth in the middle of Pasadena, CA has spurred on my bit of a British accent (which I’ve been told by natives is actually quite close to the real deal). Recently I was introduced to Bib & Tuck, an amazing site that allows you to connect with other fashionable girls and trade clothes! I happened upon this adorable black and white tweed Ann Taylor cropped blazer with ribbon tie in front being “Bibbed” by fellow blogger Christine Herr of NYCPRETTY.COM. (Check out her incredible blog – she’s got mad style and a sense of humor! She calls herself “a tomboy in heels“. Very cute!) I fell in love with it immediately and could not take my eyes away from it! Christine styled this blazer in such a cute way in an outfit/blog post here: http://nycpretty.com/2012/10/01/boot-up/

Black and white is not only a classic combo but it happens to be a current runway ’13 trend as well! Wearing black and white is a bit of a comfort zone for me, if you’ve been following my outfit posts or have personally seen my closet then you know this well! It’s fun to dabble with the trends of print and color but I especially appreciate it when the classics become modern again!

New season, new coat (and a new haircut, yes I got bangs!!). It’s official, Los Angeles is definitely feeling like fall. Our trees may still be green and there’s no snow to speak of, but it’s fall alright. With the new season upon us, (and yes I mean the holiday season too; YAY!!!) I decided it was time to buy a new winter coat. I lucked out and found this classy black wool double breasted trench/peacoat with a fashionably oversized collar at Forever 21 while on my recent adventure to discover the new and improved shop at the Santa Anita Mall. (Did you hear it’s 3x as large as the Pasadena store??? OMG!) So get this –  right as I’m about to leave I spot this beautiful coat, price tag: $27.50 YES PLEASE. I get to the counter and it rings up as $13.99, now that’s amazing! Just another reason why I love Forever21! When I wear this coat I simply feel chic.

Loafers: Charles Philip vs. Target; Dalmatian Print: Me Too vs Old Navy;      Studded: Steve Madden vs. Dollhouse

Now I’m always looking for the best deal when it comes to keeping up with the trends. Fortunately, with use of the wonderful world of online shopping I can compare brands side by side to find the most bang for my buck. Here’s my top picks for where to find trendy designer flats at more affordable prices.I’m obsessed with flats lately; they’re a practical shoe that can complete almost any outfit with a bit of subtle style. Most recently I’ve noticed a rise in these three shoe trends: loafers, dalmatian print, and studs. Dalmatian print is a trend I’m seeing spread across all the garment sections this season – dalmatian bags, sweaters, skirts, and H&M even has skinny jeans in the new black and white animal print! I’ve yet to try this trend, but I think it could fit very nicely into my wardrobe. Oh if you’re having trouble deciding what to pair your dalmatian print with you should see my other blog post about mixing stripes and polkadots – it gives you 4 simple rules to follow when mixing these popular prints. Enjoy!

The crowd was filled with excitement as Ontario Mills Mall produced a fantastic event showcasing the latest in trends and current fashion all available for purchase in their mall. With the addition of a new Last Call by Neiman Marcus, an updated Nordstrom Rack, and an incredible new sign signifying Ontario Mills as the new Fashion District of the Inland Empire, the timing was so right to put on a great event in celebration of the new renovations done to update the shopping center.

Hosted by Giuliana Racic, E! News Co-host and reality star, and sponsored by Mercedes-Benz of Ontario, this event was poised at the height of LA fashion week and had all the appeal to bring out todays fashion into the public eye. Giuliana Racic, recently diagnosed with breast cancer and in remission since having surgery within the year has become a huge advocate for the cause and was sure to promote to the crowd what a blessing it is to have the support of the public for Breast Cancer research and treatment. The fashion show was held as a promotion for the brands and stores in the Ontario Mills mall as well as in support of breast cancer, since October is the month highlighting the cause.

Burberry, california, fall fashion, los angeles, pinterest rain, rain, rain in la, rainy weather, umbrella, umbrellas, wet weather, what to wear in rain in la, women's fashion

Fall and winter seasons in southern California bring rain…lots and lots of rain. Although we’ve only had one big day of rain so far this season, I’m hoping for more soon. What better accessory to complete a fall’s outfit than a cute umbrella? My mom gave me the cutest one last year for Christmas in a black and white houndstooth print (which is such a classic that will never go out of style – and happens to be quite popular this year!). I’m in love with Pinterest and I’m betting you might be too! If so, be sure to follow my newest board inspired by fashionable girls and umbrellas (Take Cover). Here’s a taste of the wet-weather fashion I’ve curated:

Audrey Tatou – ah such a classic!

Who could forget the finale at Burberry fall ’12 show with umbrellas when it was actually raining at London Fashion Week? so glorious!
