Hey guys! I recently joined forces with Style Owner to curate a cute shop. It’s just launched and we’ve filled it with super cute items for summer. We have a wide range of brands and items offered, including: Ray-Ban, House of Harlow 1960, Bobbi Brown, Alternative Apparel, Chloe, Juicy Couture, Milly, French Connection, Splendid, Blaque Label, and many more! I’ve varied the brands and prices so that there’s something for everyone – including you! Many of the brands have discounted items you can only find in our shop – so get ‘em while they’re hot! Here’s a couple of my favorite pieces in shop now:

Elbow Patch Sweater in Flax
$141.00 USD
Daftbird

This is something I would totally recommend for those late night beach walks and bonfires that always seem to fill my summers. Living in Southern California it’s not always your first option to “throw a sweater on” for summer time, but if you’re going to spend the evening outdoors, it’s not a bad idea. And it’s certainly a cute one in this case!

1X1 Tank in Many Colors
$38.00 USD
Splendid

Basic white tank – Every woman needs one. And not just in white, I suggest having black, grey, and navy as well. Adding in some bits of color are a great idea too! My personal favorites to add would be red, hot pink, and turquoise. Good thing Splendid has them all!

Lacy Layers String Tie Bikini Bottom
$28.99 USD (was $58!)
Juicy Couture

I’m a fan of both one piece and two piece swimwear. Personally, I only like wearing bikinis and this is the one I’m really in love with this season! Ruffles on top are a fun style to play with! (hint: wearing ruffled tops creates the illusion of a larger breast size) Pairing a frilly top with basic bottoms are a sure way to balance out an outfit.

Lace Tank Top
$34.00 USD (was $85!)
7 for all mankind

Now this is the kind of bargain I’m talking about! 7 for all Mankind has partnered with us to slash prices to give you high end apparel at affordable price points.

Surrender Tank in Leopard
$94.00 USD
One Teaspoon

Rawr! My favorite print in the entire world is animal print! This little leopard tank top is sure to bring out a new side of you! The cut is modest yet sexy because it still shows off your skin without having a plunging neckline.

Alex & I at La Lumiere Fashion Show in Redding, CA for Eloquent Woman Magazine

Taking a mini-roadtrip with some of the most beautiful and hard working women I know, recreating Gisele Bundchen’s “sexy professional” look from The Devil Wears Prada, AND being named Fashion Editor of Eloquent Woman Magazine…….can you say Dream Job come true?! Ahhhhhhh I am overjoyed/ high on life/ so happy/ estatic  – no, I am blessed, honored, and grateful.

Truly, this weekend has been one of the most inspiring, uplifting, and exciting to date! Hanging out with Alex, a previous roommate of mine, a great friend, and also our Magazine Designer, was such a blast! We were able to reconnect in a way that only 10 hours in a car ride can do – haha! But really, Alex and I had a lot of fun together and I felt like I was finally getting back to being a more fun self again. To be honest, these last couple of months personally haven’t been the easiest – professionally they’ve been steady and growing…and now they’ve come to a peak of greatness! I’m happy to have this weekend be a point of turnaround for the more personal parts of myself now that professionally I have accomplished a huge goal for myself.

Spending Sunday morning doing a photoshoot for our Fall 2012 issue with Jackie & Malia in a gorgeous park and then attending Bill Johnson’s service at Bethel Church has go to be some of the most happiest moments of the whole trip. Although our stay was short and our drive was long (literally 20 hours round trip!) we accomplished so much on this trip! Not only were we in a perpetual meeting of 48 hours being constantly together in the same car and such, but we were able to creatively decide almost all of the last details of the second issue we are about to publish in June. Being together for such a long time and being able to so easily flip flop between laughing about how ridiculous we all looked when falling asleep in the car and then back to picking out the right photos for the editorial piece was really a great testament to our amount of greatness in our team.

4:30am we leave Los Angeles, we arrive at our hotel in Redding by 3:30pm and have just an hour after getting settled before we have to arrive at the venue. Within one hour our team of vagabond road trippers transformed into gorgeous fashionistas ready to represent Eloquent Woman with all that they are. I realized it only after I had looked in the mirror as I was putting on my glasses before walking out of the hotel room…with the high bun, black dress, fair complexion, and of course the glasses I had created a very Gisele Bundchen look. The Devil Wears Prada is definitely one of my favorite movies – I mean you have fantastically gorgeous Anne Hathaway, playing a hard working girl just like the rest of us, have a fairy tale dream job fall upon her – what more is there to love?!  Check out some of my favorite stills from the movie of Gisele’s look:

Gisele Bundchen in The Devil Wears Prada with Emily Blunt

Seeing my work in our 1st issue laid out on the table coupled with a poster sized Teaser for our Summer issue and postcards of the teaser was just so exciting!

Gisele working the “Sexy Professional” look!

Jackie and I getting excited for the show! “Girls in Pearls”

I think the glasses really do add the perfect amount of accessorizing.

So happy to be working closely with Shannon to build this incredible magazine!

tantalized yet?

Tantalized, titillated, taken; yes I too am madly seduced by tangerine’s fierce hues as Pantone has announced ‘Tango Tangerine” as the Color of 2012. I personally was one to believe that orange was confined strictly to prison jumpsuits, sports teams, and beach towels…but after this season’s runways were unveiled I started to clear a space in my heart for the many shades of orange.  It was impossible to keep my heart closed to such vibrant and truly powerful hues when they were gracefully swaying down the catwalk as my jaw dropped ever so slightly with each new design. I was inspired – inspired to squeeze fresh orange juice, to bask in the warmth of sunlight, to run through fields of Californian poppies…. to let orange take up a permanent residence in my heart. I have seen the light – or rather the lighter side of orange. Deep hues of scarlet have never been a sore spot, but alas have never found their way into my closet. Like I said, I’ve been blinded of the potential this vibrant color has held…that is until now! Enjoy my favorite pieces of tangerine inspirations!

Armani Prive Spring 2012 Paris Couture

This last week of January was ushered in by gorgeous gowns, intricate hand beading, and layers of ruffles and lace to no and…and very much to my excitement I might add! Only the biggest and the best were shown at Paris Couture…as it should be! Designers such as Dior, Giambattista Valli, Gaultier Haute Couture, Givenchy, Chanel, Armani Prive, and Versace were showing off their most imaginative of designs for the spring Paris Couture week of fashion.

Versace 2012 Paris

I was suprised to know that Versace was showing this year; she hasn’t had a collection at Paris Couture in nearly 8 years! No matter the reasons, I was happy to see she had made her presence known and of course went all out! You can check out some of her designs from the show here:

The shows which I was most captivated with were Chanel, Armani, and Dior. Chanel is and will forever be one of my most favorite fashion houses in the world. Between the forward thinking persona she was shown with in the movie “Coco Before Chanel” and the endless use of tweed in every collection I’m a dedicated Chanel follower for life. Ps…did you know my favorite perfume is Mademoiselle by Chanel…I’ve been wearing it nearly every day for the past year now! :D

Dior put on a fantastic show this season as well….full of lady-like silhouettes and full gowns with lace, beading, and of course this season’s trending sheer sexiness! Check out the blog post I wrote for Eloquent Woman Magazine about Dior’s Paris Couture collection HERE.

Me wearing my favorite color!

Armani’s Couture collection was full of bright green fabrics that I just couldn’t help but smile at! - Side note: my favorite color is green. I have a lime green Iphone case, lime green bedroom walls, and often wear green in it’s finest of shades: guacamole. Yes, my favorite color is guacamole green! – As for Armani’s fantastic collection is was certainly made up in brighter shades of lime and chartreuse.

Besides the color of most of the collection, I was first drawn to the photos of this show by the silly little twirlly-do fascinators all the models were wearing. I thought they were just so cute…almost Who-ish (You know the Who’s in Who-ville from The Grinch!) I think the fascinators did an excellent job of tying together the collection, even though it was clearly a very well thought out design process in each piece to make the collection cohesive.

The most prominent of design elements throughout the collection included fitted jackets with the trending peplum waist and peaked shoulders, many draped skirts, and well tailored separates. The entire show was a beautiful display of the ultimate fashionista’s daily wear.

I am so drawn to bright colors right now!!! It’s official, I’m over fall and ready for spring and summer color-blocking and crazy prints! Day one of my love for brights was inspired by Paula Patton’s dress on the Golden Globes Awards red carpet. Lucky for you, I did some research and found that her fantastic bright yellow gown was designed by Monique Lhuillier. After checking out her Spring ’12 collection and Pre-Fall ’12 collection I’m lusting after her designs so much more!! -I shall have to write another post about her collections!!- Day two brought me to notice Dana-Maxx’s hot pink-purple dress while I created a set combining Patton’s yellow inspirations and Dana-Maxx’s dress for Polyvore Live’s contest…funny that without trying, I stumbled upon yet another crazy colorful combination of art and fashion!

I’m a fanatic about Etsy…I have an Etsy shop, am apart of teams on Etsy, shop on Etsy, help others set up Etsy shops, and of course I blog all about it- as you have probably noticed! HA! It should be no surprise to you that in my hours spent on Etsy.com today I found more colorful bits to share with you!!! I found a post by WeirdWolf on Etsy’s blog about a small town being transformed by color by a couple local artists. Check out the 4 minute video that shows it all happening!
